Station One @ Viva Residency (Jalan Ipoh)

Last Sunday I went to Station One @ Viva Residency, Jalan Ipoh for dinner.
It is just newly open about two weeks ago and located in corner shop-lot of Viva Residency at Jalan Ipoh.
Viva Residency is just right opposite of Sentul Park entrance.

When there is a new cafe or restaurant open in nearby area, me and my partner will definitely go pay a visit.
And then we judge.
(Who doesn't ? Haha)

I'm not new to Station One but newbie to this newly open outlet.
Here, I just make a short list of what I observed there.
1. Layout of the outlet is nicely done.
2. 99% of the staff are young boys and girls. (I mean they look really YOUNG!)
3. Got LCD screen for TV (It's common nowadays)
4. Food presentation is too simple (lousy).
5. Salad/Vege portion is terribly stingy.
6. Drinks really need some improvement especially customers are paying more for drinks.

In my conclusion, bad experience and a lot to be improved.
I believe this outlet of Station One, is strategically only for family and people who live nearby especially condominium around the area.

Let's see my photos for the proof. (real food)

In the menu it said :
"You have to warn your friends before having this spicy dish otherwise they may be confused why you suddenly crying."
It was absolutely....nothing.
Look at the chili sauce! It's taste like Maggi chili sauce!
There is no spiciness! So where's the crying look?
And PLEASE look at the vegetable!
TWO slices of vege?
Is this the new standard of Station One?
Above: Chili Fish Fillet with Rice - RM 11.50

Grilled Chicken Chop Rice - RM 13.50
Nick's rating: *****
Nick says: Stingy with vege portion but fortunately grilled chicken was okay.

YES Tea - RM 4.80
 Nick's rating: *****
Nick says: I won't say YES to this tea though. But it was okay.

3 Layer Tea - RM 3.50
My partner's comment: First few sips were okay but then tasteless the rest. Feel like drinking water.

Part 2 - Austin Chase @ The Gardens Mall

I have something to say here.
The posts here are actually about my activities during weekend,
so do not think that I purposely choose a topic of food & drink to blog about.
Almost every post here is happened during weekend because that's the only 2 days I could go out and enjoy.
I'm not a food critic.
I just post what I eat and some NEWS to share with ALL Malaysian.
Hope you guys understand...

Let me continue with my next stop after dinner at Little Penang Kafe and grocery-shop in Jusco market @ Mid Valley last Saturday, which was Austin Chase.

It's been months since my last visit to Austin Chase @ The Gardens Mall.
They have been improving their outlet.
Good job!
I always come here for only 2 reason.

First is I like the coffee & cake set. It costs only RM 19.90 with 2 big cups of coffee & 1 piece of cake. You can choose your flavor of cake from the bar like carrot cake, tiramisu cake and so on. They are quite generous with the cake portion, personally for me a slice of cake is enough for 2 person. Hehe.
Second reason is that I love the comfy and cozy atmosphere there. They even have a 'private' room for 8 person. There's a LCD TV, some magazines, daily newspaper and play stuff like scrambles. It just awesome!

Me and my partner are the fans since when they first open. That time it was still new and so they had this coffee & cake set promotion until today still have. But price obviously gone up after the business picking up and endless support from regular customers. It was RM 14.90 per set when they first introduced this. After a while increase RM 2 to RM 16.90 per set. And now its RM 19.90 per set with few options that you can actually upgrade the coffee to Latte with extra RM 3 or your flavors coffee at RM 4.50 extra. See the picture for more. LazyBun lazy to construct words....Hehehe

So far I've been to the outlets in The Gardens Mall and Pavilion. Unfortunately the one in Pavilion is no longer there. They opened a small counter right in the center Pavilion Food Court and I guess no doing any good business so they closed it. They have two more outlets in Wangsa Walk and Queensbay Mall in Penang which I have not been there. Tell me about it if you are near to these outlets...okay? Thanks.
(Opps...just found out Austin Chase open another outlet in Sunway Giza Mall, Kota Damansara, according to Austin Chase Coffee facebook.)

Apart from coffee, now they do serve some good food like breakfast set and western food set. I have yet to try (just like I said, Coffee & cake set in Austin Chase for me) but here's the picture showing you some set with reasonable price.

If you feel tired after the whole day of shopping, why not stop by Austin Chase for a nice brewed coffee and enjoy a slice of cake?
Hey, it is up to you.
But I love Austin Chase...hehehe...

Wonderful Saturday Part 1 - Fried Kuey Teow @ Little Penang Kafe

What a wonderful outing today!
Very simple plan and did not go out just to 'jalan-jalan' blindly.
We had our destination and task set right after each.
It was a delightful out-going day!

Had lunch at Dome Cafe @ The Gardens Mall,
Harry Potter movie at GSC Signature @ The Gardens Mall after lunch,
Had my all time favorite Fried Kuey Teow for last meal of the day as dinner at Little Penang Kafe @ Mid Valley,
Grocery shopping in Jusco Market and
the last, brewed coffee at my favorite cafe - Austin Chase @ The Gardens Mall
before we leaving at 8pm sharply.

That's my list for the day.
Sorry. It is not finish yet.
I still have a lot of things to tell you guys.
Well, most of the time I just blog about food.
And today, no different of course. ( :p )
Allow me to share some of my favorites,
I know its nothing special but this is ME,
and this whole idea of blogging is about ME!
(Laugh Out Loud)

I had Catch of the Day main course in Dome Cafe and read FREE magazine for about 1 hour 30 minutes.
After that was Harry Potter movie at 3.30pm
It was good because I didn't complain about pain in the butt.
(Laugh Out Loud) was good. (go and watch yourself)

I have always love Fried Kuey Teow (F.K.T) no matter Non-Halal or Halal.
Most people would say non-halal one is better because they use pork-oil.
It is tastier than non-halal F.K.T.
Yes. It is true.
However, nowadays most of the food choice are Halal and it is one of ways to survive in food industry in KL especially.
So, I started to love F.K.T. from Little Penang Kafe few years back when I was living in Petaling Jaya.
It's Halal dish, everyone is allowed to eat.
(Well, most people prefer non-halal F.K.T. still)
After all, we are 1Malaysia.
1Food as well, though.

The usual dish I order in Little Penang Kafe is Fried Kuey Teow & the drink would be Sugar Cane.
I mean its something like I go Zara for my working shoes and I go SEED for shirts.
I go Little Penang Kafe for F.K.T. (Hehe)
Now you get what I mean? (My english is not good enough to express most of what I want to say, but I guess you get what I mean. I'm novice after all)
Let's see some photos, shall we

Siamese Lemak Laksa - RM 10.50
My partner had this few times in KLCC & Mid Valley. He will be looking like a runner just finished a marathon, sweating non-stop. If I were him, I believe I would be someone just came out from swimming pool, wet from head to toe. Hahaha.
According to him, it is absolutely delicious if you are into spicy or SWEAT. ;)

Fried Kuey Teow - RM 10.50

Nick's rating: *****
Nick says: 3 medium size of prawns are gorgeously presented and fresh. I always love kuey teow, so what to say about it? It's fantastic! :p

Here's the proof of it meant what we said.

My partner finished every single drop of the lemak laksa soup.

F.K.T. by Nick

Little Penang Kafe is moved to new location which is one side of the wings in Mid Valley.
(Sorry I don't East or West wing of Mid Valley)
There got Esquire Kitchen 大人餐厅 right opposite them.
Well if you don't know, just follow the address below then.
It was about few months ago since their moving and I hope their business is doing good,
because to be honest, that location is bad strategy compared to previous location which was in between link-bridge of The Gardens mall & Mid Valley.
From what I have observed, it was much better and people even queue up for it in previous location, but not current location.
Sad to hear it but it's the true.
Here are photos of the new location.

Okay, now its a bit late.
I haven't take shower yet after back from The Gardens mall.
Sorry but I have to call it off for now and let me continue my story next post okay...
I sincerely hope everyone enjoy the weekend.

Austin Chase, next be continued

P/S: If you have any place to recommend me for Fried Kuey Teow, please leave a comment to me. I will check it out the place next time. Thanks a lot.

Sentul Ah Yap Hokkien Mee & Seafood (洗都阿叶福建面海鲜饭店)

Eventually it finished renovation and open about 1 month ago I guess.
Sentul Ah Yap Hokkien Mee & Seafood, famous with their charcoal Hokkien Mee located at Jalan Sentul, Kuala Lumpur since 1960.

We used to go there often before the whole place renovated, mostly for their Hokkien Mee and other stall's Curry Mee.
The place was so dirty and you could see rats sometimes but after renovation it is completely different.
A nice place to hang out with friends too because they serve drinks at as low as price in Mamak stall.
Some more they open from 5pm till 1am !

Last time we used to see the Lady Boss in the stall.
I don't know how old is she but around 60-70s?
She is just a typical Chinese old lady, but then if you see her cooking like a chef master, you would think differently.
I feel really honored just to eat the Hokkien Mee she cooks.
I didn't know they were famous with Hokkien Mee because that location was not proper at all and they have small stall for doing "Siew Chao" (小炒).
Until one day there was a new TV series on NTV 7 called 《美食厨师男》 at 10pm to 11pm from Monday to Thursday.

I and my partner normally watch series from 10pm to 11pm and we thought it was a stupid show because of the poor acting. But still we watch.
The TV series was about story of a family struggled to live up their famous Hokkien Mee restaurant and bla bla bla. So, from there, we saw "洗都", translation of "Sentul" + Hokkien Mee.
Then we realised it could be the one we went before.
It was true.
The name of restaurant and brand in the TV series are theirs.
So lucky us!
We heard also they have other branches which located in Dataran Sunway Kota Damansara, Damansara Utama and SunwayMas.
The lady boss still remain in the 'headquarter' branch in Sentul here, as a chef and boss.
Her two sons are handling the other 3 branches I guess.

Last night, thanks to Mr.Koo, our friend and neighbour, treated us a dinner meal in this newly open Sentul Ah Yap Charcoal Hokkien Mee Restaurant (this name taken from the Menu).
We love room with air-conditioner and it wont be so noisy sitting outdoor near the road with all cars passing by.
First to order, of course famously Hokkien Mee.
Next Special Fried Bean Curd and Fried "Pak Ko" with a hot pot of Chinese tea.
It was all good (see the photos yourself pls)

Special Fried Bean Curd (招牌豆腐) - RM 13.00

Hokkien Mee (福建面) - RM 11 (M)
Can you see a lot of pork fat on top of it ?
Yummy but don't eat so much...its FAT. Hehe

Fried "Pak Ko" (炒白猓) - RM 8.00 (S)

Nick says: Overall, all good! Hehehe...

The restaurant got 3 big Plasma TVs (2 outdoor, 1 indoor) playing the TV series - 《美食厨师男》
There were a lot of customers, from regular ones to new customers.
To be honest, I'm so happy for them!
Seeing it growing from a dirty lousy chinese-style's restaurant to whole new look of proper restaurant.
It just overwhelming joy!

Selamat Hari Raya Haji to All Muslims (Dome Cafe @ The Gardens Mall)

There are 10 items printed on the voucher and we had 4 of them for the past two weeks.
With the voucher, it is so worthy.

On the Hari Raya Haji holiday, I and my partner went to Dome cafe @ The Gardens Mall for lunch, just to 'utilize' the voucher.
I mean I started to actually enjoy the discount or free stuff for some times already.
This time I ordered Fish & Chips and it turned up on the table within 2 minutes after ordering.
The business is doing so good.
I wondered if there is any chaos situation in the kitchen.
Okay, skip the crap.
Let's see the photos:

Fish & chips

Nick says: Generous portion till I couldn't finish all by myself. NICE!

Why I Deserve To Win a Samsung Galaxy Tab

Blurry morning with the humid weather in Kuala Lumpur town.
It's Hari Raya Haji, public holiday in Malaysia.
(Selamat Hari Raya Haji to all Muslims)

I came across Advertlets & found out about Samsung facebook.
Looking at the KL Tower from my unit condo's full glass wall window, thinking:
Why I deserve TO winSamsung Galaxy Tab.
I deserve to win a Samsung Galaxy Tab because the gadget is simply
By just surfing the page to, I was stunt with the amazing flash navigation right front in the center of my laptop. I mean perfect dimension without me clicking & scrolling the page.

I always wanted a gadget with medium screen, larger than Samsung Galaxy S but smaller than Apple's Ipad.
And Samsung Galaxy TAB is just perfect for me.
I'm going out today and going to find out more & give a hand on with the gadget.
Meanwhile, let me know what do you think of Samsung Galaxy TAB.
Good or bad, I take it all.
After all, not everything is perfect in this World, even though human being.

Physiotherapy Session 14 - 15

It was a mixed feeling for physio session last weekend.
Good and bad.
Good news was I don't need to spend longer time in the center for doing all kind of exercises because of the new breathing technique.
However the bad news was that it is almost impossible-task to do with newly introduced breathing technique.

It makes sense by looking at the picture they draw and colorful pen ink on my docket, indicating what to do & don't, that it is workable for my case.
But to really implement that ideology into real action requires hardworking efforts from patients and therapists no matter what.
Sounds impossible.
There are approximately 20 patients come all at once especially peak hour like Saturday & Sunday morning.
And only 6 to 7 therapists there to take care of the patients.
I mean apart from my own hardworking on the exercises, I need special attention from therapist to be able guiding me from wrong push to correct inhales.
Haha. We all do need special care though.

Let me talk little about this new breathing technique.
Firstly check standing position with even shoulders pulling backward & chest frontward.
Look at the mirror and double check the head is in same position vertically with the small river between chest.
And then inhale.
Inhale is not easy because it needs focus and the cooperation of your body parts especially the back, to pull off the maximum of effectiveness to help scoliosis condition.
And of course there is different technique of breathing for each scoliosis case.
For C-shape curve like me, I was told to do this.
When inhaling, I need to pull my right lung forward (cannot backward) and left lung push backward.
In the same time also I need to make sure my lower back right up the waist there to be pulled backward just like left lung does.
At that point, the therapist kept telling you that you must feel it. You can feel it. You must focus!
And I was looking at myself in the mirror, feel self-pity and hopeless.
Because I couldn't feel it myself.
Exhale is easy. Just slowly let it goes.
Slowly remember! Yes I remember this.

After feel comfortable with the position, take the tiny poles to support your position and in my case left hand grab the pole high till I feel the stretching. Right hand on the other pole the arms must even with the shoulder, not high nor low.
Breathing continue....
9 times of breathing per set and we need to do 3 set.
Break time between each set.

There is one funny fact about this breathing technique which is you need to make "Sssiiiiiiiiii" sound when you are exhaling.
It's like a mother wanna make her baby pee-pee, she will make "Sssiiiiiii..." sound.
Apparently it works.
Quite a numbers of patient going in & out of washroom during physio session.

I'm drinking red wine right now while writing this post.
Don't worry, I'm not drunk.
I know how to enjoy a glass of fine red wine from 5-star hotel.
That's it for this session.

I wish all patients
God bless you all.

Kissaten @ Lot 10 KL

Always heard my partner talking about Hu Thong (十号胡同) in Lot 10 Kuala Lumpur.
Yesterday finally we got there to take a look and ended up dinner there as well.
Initially I didn't take a serious look because I was busy updating my Check-In location to foursqure & facebook.
Kept following my partner, walking here and there.
It's really confusing. Hehe.
I wondered if get an old woman into the foodcourt, will she find a way out ? LOL

We was looking for a Germany stall but somehow couldn't find it.
And then we saw "Teriyaki PORK burger" !
PORK burger!
Then WAGYU burger!
Oh my god, they were totally new to me!

The stall name is Kissaten, a Japanese coffee & restaurant.
So my partner got me the Teriyaki Wagyu Burger, and he had Tonkatsu Ramen.
It's self-service. You buy and pay in the counter.
Employee there was friendly though.

They giving away FREE green tea!
So just get your main course and you get FREE green tea (free refill as well )
Here's my photos:
